ILAM, Aug 19: Police on Friday intercepted a large amount of sugar while being transported to Nepal illegally via the Pashupatinagar checkpoint bordering India.
The Area Police Office, Pahupatinagar seized as many as 197 sacks of sugar today during a security check.
“A large amount of unclaimed sugar was seized and handed over to Pahupatinagar Custom Office,” Inspector Mahesh Khanal told Republica Online.
Khanal said that the market value of the sugar is Rs 392,000.
According to police, Leeladevi Shrestha of Pashupatinagar is the owner of that sugar.
