KATHMANDU, Aug 22: Roads in various parts of the country have been obstructed by incessant rain, while vehicular movement has been restricted on some road sections at night.
According to a report issued by the Police Headquarters as of 5:00 am Saturday, roads have been affected in Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchok, Rasuwa, Rukum West, Lamjung, Ilam, Nuwakot, Rolpa, Palpa and Makawanpur.
In view of the potential risk of flooding, all vehicular movement has been prohibited from 6:00 pm to 4:00 m on the Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunje Besi road in Kavrepalanchok. Traffic is allowed from 4:00 am to 6:00 pm.
On the Kanti Highway in Makawanpur, all vehicles are also restricted from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am due to rainfall.

Likewise, movement of all public and private vehicles, except those providing essential services, has been banned from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am on the Tokha-Chhahare road section in Nuwakot. No vehicles will be allowed on the road until further notice.
The Mechi Highway is completely blocked at Rajduwali in Ilam Municipality-9 due to mud accumulation. An alternative route is available at the location.
The Araniko Highway at Kodari in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2, Sindhupalchok, has been completely blocked following a landslide at Iku and a road collapse at Lipping.
The Trishuli-Mailung-Syafrubeshi road section at Khalte in Uttargaya Rural Municipality-5, Rasuwa, is also completely blocked after the Trishuli River eroded part of the road.
Meanwhile, the Pasang Lhamu Highway has been completely blocked following a landslide at Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-2 on Thursday afternoon.
In Rukum West, the Jajarkot-Dolpa road along the Bheri Corridor at Rije Guard Khola in Aathbiskot Municipality-6 is completely blocked due to a landslide.
The Besisahar-Manang road in Lamjung has also been completely blocked at Rambazar in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-4 following a landslide.
Similarly, two major roads in Rolpa and Palpa have been completely blocked. The Ghorahi-Thawang-Rukum Shahid Path is blocked at Jhakali in Madi Rural Municipality-6, Rolpa, following a landslide.
In Palpa's Tinau Rural Municipality-3, a landslide occurred about 100 meters north of the entry point to Palpa from the Siddhababa Tunnel Road, completely blocking the Siddhartha Highway. The landslide occurred Saturday morning.
As the affected areas continue to face the risk of landslides and flooding, the Police Headquarters has urged people to assess the situation before travelling, exercise caution and use alternative routes where necessary.
