GORKHA, July 5: Three persons were killed after being buried by a landslide that hit Kerauja VDC in the district at around 11 am on Tuesday morning.

The deceased are Kajimaya Gurung, 45, Chinmaya Gurung and, 30, and Sandeep Ghale, 15 of Kerauja-3.

DSP Birendra Thapa at District Police Office, Gorkha said that they were hit by the mudslide while constructing a road.

Seven others were injured, three of them seriously, in the landslide.

The seriously injured are Tunge Gurung, 40, and Ukal Gurung, 40, of Kerauja-4 and Sukram Ghale, 12, of Kerauja-3. They have been airlifted to Kathmandu through a Nepal Army chopper for further treatment.

The security personnel with the help of locals had carried out the rescue works.
