KATHMANDU, Dec 26: Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has given a statement that he has not taken even a single rupee from any cooperative.
In his detention statement in the Kaski District Court on Thursday, he stated that he was not involved in co-operative fraud and had not taken even a single rupee from a cooperative.

Lamichhane has repeated the statements he made to the police. He said that he was not involved in the cooperative and that GB Rai is responsible for it. He said that he has not taken any loans from any cooperative and was not involved in the loan process. He has claimed that he was unaware of any illegal loans being taken.
Lamichhane’s statement recording could not be completed today and will continue on Friday.
Among the arrested on charges of misappropriation of savings of the Suryadarshan Cooperative, the statement-recording of Chhabi Lal Joshi and Leela Pachai has been completed.
A case has been filed against 31 people on three charges including cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering. The Kaski District Government Attorney's Office (DGAO) has sought a compensation of Rs 33.76 million from Lamichhane, accusing him of being involved in Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud.
