KATHMANDU, Feb 27: Nepal national cricket team young spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has been conferred the ‘Breakthrough Star’ title in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 tournament for his stellar performance in the West Indies last season.
The 18-year-old right-handed leg spinner was drafted to play for the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the CPL in March last year. Lamichhane took seven wickets in five matches during the period.

Lamichhane has presented outstanding performances in the CPL, Global T-20 Canada, Afghanistan Premier League, T-10 League, and Big Bash League.
Currently, he is playing the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Lamichhane was also the first Nepali cricketer to get a contract in the IPL in 2018. He was bought by the Delhi Daredevils.
