Lendanda tunnel of Kathmandu-Madhesh Expressway makes  a breakthrough

KATHMANDU, May  18: As part of the Kathmandu-Terai/Madhes Expressway project being built by the Nepali Army, the Lendanda tunnel made a breakthrough on Friday. According to a statement issued by the Nepali Army (NA), the 1,633 meters long tunnel, from Kathmandu to Nijgadh, achieved a breakthrough on Friday.

KATHMANDU, May  18: As part of the Kathmandu-Terai/Madhes Expressway project being built by the Nepali Army, the Lendanda tunnel made a breakthrough on Friday. According to a statement issued by the Nepali Army (NA), the 1,633 meters long tunnel, from Kathmandu to Nijgadh, achieved a breakthrough on Friday.


The breakthrough of another tunnel running parallel to the tunnel that achieved the breakthrough on Friday is yet to be achieved.

According to the NA, there is a plan to break through the tunnels on both sides with a special program in the near future.


NA has taken the responsibility for the construction of the expressway since 2017 and aims to complete the expressway construction work by the next three years.
