Nepali folk song ‘Gham Chhaya’ was launched recently amid a special program organized on Friday. The song was launched by famous folk singer Kumar Basnet and its music video was also premiered.

Singers Melina Rai and Laxma Magar has sung the song. Speaking in the event about the singers, Basnet expressed that participation of youngsters in folk song should be encouraged. He further stated that immersion of technology in music industry has brought deformity. “In our time it was really hard to record a video and a song, but now technology has made it easier. If youths keep on supporting and participating in folk music then it’s not hard to preserve it,” said Basnet.

Basnet is known for hits like ‘Chori Vanda Aama Taruni’, ‘Unkai Chori Taruni’, ‘Herda Ramro’ and many more.  The song is composed and penned by Prakash Oli and Ramesh Bohora respectively. Music video of the song features Bhupendra Daagi and Shristi Khadka. Cinematographed by Prakash Khadka, the video is directed by Bikram Chauhan.
