KATHMANDU, June 22: Nepali Congress lawmaker Kul Bahadur Gurung has been elected as chairman of the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) on Wednesday.
At the meeting of the Committee today, Ganeshman Gurung of the CPN-UML tabled a proposal to elect Gurung as the PHSC Chairperson while Chinkaji Shrestha of the Nepali Congress seconded it.
Speaker Onsari Gharti is scheduled to administer oath of office to newly elected PHSC Chairman Gurung today itself.
The first meeting of the special committee on Monday had asked Speaker Onsari Gharti to fix a date to elect its chairman.
Lawmakers from all parties in the committee had forged a consensus to elect NC leader Gurung unanimously as the chairman of the committee.
