Koshi Province to cut its 25% budget for reconstruction

BIRATNAGAR, Oct 14: The Koshi Province government has decided to cut its budget by 25 percent for the current fiscal year. A meeting of the council of ministers of the provincial government held on Monday decided to slash its budget by 25 percent for this fiscal year. 



Internal Affairs and Law Minister of Koshi Province Rewati Raman Bhandari said that the budget would not be implemented as decided by the cabinet meeting.

He added that the budget instead would be spent for the reconstruction of the physical properties damaged in the vandalism and arson happened during the Gen-Z protests of September 8 and 9, and for the development of the properties damaged in the recent rain-induced disasters, Minister Bhandari added. 


Likewise, the province government has transferred its two secretaries to different ministries.
