KMC Police Chief Pandey returns to duty

KATHMANDU, June 19: Raju Nath Pandey, the Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Police, has returned to duty on Thursday.



Pandey, who had been suspended for six months, resumed work after the Patan High Court Wednesday issued an interim order not to implement the suspension decision.

Following the court's order, he returned to duty on Thursday. He reported to the Metropolitan Police Office in Sundhara on Thursday morning and officially resumed his responsibilities.


On Wednesday, a joint bench of Judges Rishi Raj Bhandari and Dilli Ratna Shrestha issued the order against the implementation of Pandey’s suspension


The Chief Administrative Officer of the metropolis Saroj Guragain made the decision to suspend him on June 3. Following that, Pandey filed a writ petition at Patan High Court on June 8, against his suspension.
