KMC implements fee for filming inside Hanuman Dhoka area

Foreigners should pay Rs 55,000 per day while Nepalis have to pay Rs 20,000

KATHMANDU, July 19: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has implemented a property tax system for the new fiscal year 2023/24 for filming/shooting in Hanuman Dhoka area, which is listed on World Heritage Sites. Foreigners are required to pay Rs 55,000 per day, while Nepalis will be charged Rs 20,000 per day to shoot a feature film in the area.

KMC has issued a circular to all the wards instructing them to implement this new property taxation system from July 17 (Shrawan 1).

Similarly, foreigners have to pay a fee of Rs 25,000 and Nepalis Rs 10,000 per day to shoot short films, documentaries and music videos in the area. In addition, Rs 60,000 per day has been fixed for foreigners for shooting advertisement videos.
