King of Qatar to hold meeting with PM Dahal, preparations underway to sign six bilateral agreements

KATHMANDU, April 24: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and King Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar are set to hold a meeting today.


The meeting between Qatar's King Thani and the Prime Minister, who arrived in Nepal on Tuesday for a two-day visit, is scheduled for 10AM at Hotel Soaltee. After the meeting, a series of bilateral agreements and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) are scheduled to be signed.

According to Amrit Bahadur Rai, spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, six MoUs are on the agenda with Qatar. The signing ceremony includes agreements related to training and cooperation exchanges between government news agencies of Nepal and Qatar, as well as between the Office of the Attorney General and the Institute of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, there will be agreements on matters concerning education and cultural exchange.


After the meeting with the Prime Minister, Prime Minister Dahal will host a luncheon for King Thani at Hotel Dwarika. The King is expected to depart later in the afternoon. Earlier on Tuesday, he had a meeting with President Ram Chandra Paudel, who hosted a dinner to welcome him.
