Khadka claimed that party workers want him to see as party president during the general convention scheduled for August 26-30. “I have been visiting various parts of the country to learn about the opinions of party cadres,” he told media persons. “I will file candidacy for party president.”
Khadka, who arrived in his home district of Dang from Pyuthan on Thursday evening, remained busy in meetings with party cadres. “I have already become general secretary,” he said. “I must file candidacy for party president if party workers want so.”
He also said that he will soon announce his candidacy during the general convention.
Meanwhile, Khadka said that he did not have any nexus with the former king Gyanendra. He said that his meetings with the former king at various religious places were just coincidence.
Khadka said that NC should have its separate youth squad as long as Maoists and UML keep their Young Communist League and Youth Force respectively.
