KATHMANDU, July 28: Journalist Khem Bhandari has announced that he will contest the upcoming federal election from the same electoral constituency where former media personality Ravi Lamichhane, the coordinator of National Independent Party, will contest the election.

Bhandari has announced his candidacy for the federal election through his Facebook page. He wrote, "Finally, I have decided to contest the federal election against Ravi Lamichhane. My claim is that Ravi misused the media to exonerate Nirmala Panta's killers. This is also the reason why he was acquitted in the Pudasaini case. If not, where is the criminal law to deny the statement of a dying person?”
