KHEC received a winner’s shield and gift hampers from Castrol and Eastlink. The team also received the “Immune Security Best Idea Award” in a separate category.[break]

The runner-up was the team from Western Regional College, who received the “First Runner-up Shield” and gift hampers from Castrol and Eastlink. They also won the “NTA Best Engineering Award” at the event.
The event consisted of tasks which imitated a clean-up of the environment. The robots had to separate different colored balls, which represented nature and waste products, plant green lids on top of brown models, which symbolized tree planting, and sort out different equipments in the arena. Each team was given three minutes to complete the tasks, out of which the winners were the teams that took the least amount of time to complete them.
This is the sixth Robocup tournament that has been held in Kathmandu so far. Like the past Robocup tournaments, it has used its theme to promote technology as well as raise awareness about issues facing Kathmandu in the participants and the audiences alike.
