Khanal warns NC not to ratify MCC forcefully

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Jhalanath Khanal has warned the Nepali Congress (NC) against ratifying the US-funded Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement through parliament in a forceful manner.

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Jhalanath Khanal has warned the Nepali Congress (NC) against ratifying the US-funded Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact agreement through parliament in a forceful manner. 


Stating that the MCC agreement was signed by misguiding the citizens, leader Khanal said that the party will oppose the project if it is tabled at parliament without being amended.

Talking to media persons on Wednesday, Khanal said that the MCC agreement consists of things that are not in favor of the country and that it should not be ratified by using force. He also warned of protests from his party if the MCC grant agreement is tabled at parliament as it is. He asserted that although his party is in the government, it should be allowed to protest against a wrong decision made by the government.
