During the talks, President Yadav urged Khanal to help forge political consensus and create environment for issuance of the election-related ordinance, according to a press statement issued by Khanal’s personal aide Ram Babu Adhikari. In response, Khanal, who also currently heads the four-party High Level Political Mechanism (HLPC), told President Yadav that political discussions are ongoing to forge consensus and expressed his hope that the parties will be able to clear hurdles soon, the statement added.
