Speaking at a programme organised by UML Kathmandu Constituency No. 7, he said that a new government should be formed forging national consensus and his party has been trying to create consensus among parties.
He blamed Poudel for making the country "a prisoner of indecision" by refusing to withdraw his candidacy.
He hailed Maoist Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal’s decision to withdraw his candidacy and said that Congress, too, should withdraw its candidacy to pave the way for a national consensus government.
UML has brought the concept of a consensus government for the national interest, he said.
In another context, he dispelled the rumours about the plan to dissolve the Constituent Assembly (CA) and said he had not spoken anything against the spirit of CA.
UML central member Rajendra Shrestha said national consensus will save the nation from any political disaster.
