BUTWAL, Nov 28: Nepali Congress central member Shekhar Koirala blamed Unified CPN-Maoist and CPN-UML for defaming democracy remaining neutral in the election held for prime ministerial post.

Speaking at a function organised by Nepal Press Union, Rupandehi, Sunday, he said it is not necessary to have consensus with main opposition party to pass the budget and elect new Prime Minister saying Prime Minister should refer to the President to call the session of the Legislature-Parliament.

He said Maoist leadership in the government is not acceptable to Nepali Congress unless the Maoists managed its combatants and weapons. He stressed on the need for making package deal for peace, constitution and power sharing.
