KATHMANDU, March 29: UCPN (Maoist) has stated that the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML should become responsible for the consensus on the disputed issues of the new constitution.
Following the meeting with Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at his official residence at Baluwatar in the capital on Sunday afternoon, UCPN (Maoist) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that the political deadlock was resulted as the NC and UML leaders were not in the position of taking serious decision.
“Positive discussions could still be held if ruling parties brought new proposal by this evening”, he said.
Referring to the request of NC leaders for postponing opposition's protest programs, leader Dahal said that there was no possibility of postponing the protest programs unless they got any agreement and consensus.
In today's meeting, Chairman Dahal expressed dissatisfaction on the recent verdict of the Supreme Court regarding the Truth Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and Commission on Enforced disappearance as it attacked the aspirations of peace agreement and Interim Constitution.

He further drew the attention of PM Koirala on the visa processing system, which was being prepared to assign it to a foreign company.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Minister for Law and Justice Narahari Acharya shared that PM Koirala and Chairman Dahal held serious discussions on disputed issues of the new constitution. Minister Acharya added that they would hold discussions with CPN-UML in this regard this evening. RSS
