KATHMANDU, Jan 16: The Central Committee (CC) meeting of Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) on Friday didn’t see the presence of two Maoist leaders in question – Kali Bahadur Kham and Matrika Yadav.

Kham, the prime accused in the Ram Hari murder case, and Yadav, who has warned of breaking away from the ruling party to open a new Madhesi party, didn’t participate in the central committee meeting of the Maoist party, the first since it unified with CPN-Unity Center-Masal earlier this week.

Friday’s meeting also formed a 45-member Party Politburo (35 from the Maoist side and 10 from the Masal side) and 15-member Party Secretariat (11 from the Maoist side and 4 from Masal).

The Maoist CC is meeting again on Saturday.
