Khadka, Adhikari win Pulsar Player of the Year awards

KATHMANDU, June 2: National cricket captain Paras Khadka has been declared the Player of the Year (Male) and karate player Ganga Devi Adhikari, the Player of the Year (Female)  of the Pulsar Sports Award, on Tuesday.



The duo along with six other sports personalities under eight different categories were awarded amid a special ceremony at Academy Hall, Kamaladi this afternoon. The event was organized by Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF).[break]



Player of the Year (Male): Paras Khadka (cricket)



Player of the Year (Female): Ganga Devi Adhikari (karate)



Popular Player of Year : Jharana Gurung (wushu)



Coach of the Year: Pubudu Dissanayak (cricket)



Youth Player of the Year: Chahana Bamjan Lama (wushu)



Para-athlete of the Year: Bikram Bahadur Rana (Athletics and cricket)



Lifetime Achievement Award: Bhim Thapa ( football)



Special Award : Cricket Association of the Blind (CAB), Nepal.



The winner of the Popular Player of the Year was decided through SMS voting. Pawan Ghimire, president of CAB Nepal received the Special Award on behalf of the association of the blind cricketers.



Pulsar is the main sponsor of the Sports Award. The winners of male, female and popular player of the year awards received a Pulsar bike each, while the winners in other categories will get Rs 50,000 along with gift hampers sponsored by ISME, Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, John Players and Dish Media Network, among others.
