KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Versatile athlete Keshari Chaudhary and APF´s Balkrishna Chaudhary bettered their respective triple jump and high jump records during the National Track and Field Championship being held at the Dasharath Stadium on Monday. [break]

Mid Western Region´s Chaudhary, who also holds a high jump record of 1.53 meters, cleared 11.19 meters in women´s triple jump erasing her old mark of 10.75 meters set last year.

Similarly, Balkrishna leapt 1.95 meters with his running spikes to better his own record of 1.90 meters set in the 10th South Asian Games in Sri Lanka in 2006. "I would have done better and cleared 2.5 to 2.10 meters with jumping spikes," the player who turned to athletics in 2062 after seven years in volleyball said.

Likewise Keshari, who took 10 wickets during Nepal´s victorius ACC U-19 Women´s Championship campaign last month, also claimed that she can still better the record. "I could have done better if I had not missed regular training due to my cricketing commitments," Keshari said.
