Remembering the time she first entered work in the monastery, she stated, “I have been taking care of this place since my husband died. I was left to take care of my two sons.” But eventually, she also lost both her sons.  Her one son died due to high blood pressure while her youngest son died because of stomach pain. She is now left with two grandchildren and their mother. Maharjan's work at the monastery keeps her busy, but she enjoys the company of the younger resident nuns of Kriti Buddha Bihar.
