KATHMANDU, Dec 2: Kathmandu Gurkhas have set a target of 112 runs for Chitwan Rhinos in the Nepal Premier League (NPL). After winning the toss, Chitwan Rhinos opted to field, inviting Kathmandu to bat first.
Chitwan Rhinos’ Sohail Tanvir delivered a stunning performance in the match. He has become the first bowler in the NPL to take five wickets in a single game.
Chitwan Rhinos wins by 13 runs
The 39-year-old veteran bowler Tanveer took 5 wickets giving only 21 runs in his quota of four overs. Kathmandu is being led by captain Karan KC, while Chitwan Rhinos is led by captain Kushal Malla.
Sumit Mahajan was the top scorer with 29 runs for Kathmandu, while opener Michael Levitt contributed 25 runs. Dan Douthwaite remained unbeaten on 19 runs, and Shankar Rana added 16 runs. However, other players failed to reach double figures.
