‘Kathmandu Augenblick’ at Taragaon Museum

KATHMANDU, May 16: German Ambassador Mathhias Meyer inaugurated the exhibition ‘Kathmandu Augenblick’ on Monday at Taragaon Museum.



With the Embassy of Germany in Kathmandu as a co-host, Hyatt Regency , Kathmandu and the Saraf Foundation for Himalayan Tradition and Culture organized the exhibition which will continue till June 15. The exhibition consists of paintings, objects and photography of German Artist Rolf A Kluenter. 



Born in 1956 in Buervenich in Germany, Kluenter studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dusseldorf. In 1980, he received a scholarship to come to Nepal. Since then, he lived in Nepal for 18 years as an artist and as a lecturer of Fine Arts in Tribhuvan University, which developed a strong understanding and deep appreciation of Nepali culture and arts in him. 



Kluenter’s visual works include paintings on blackened Nepali handmade paper and objects made of that paper, canvas and photography.
