JUMLA, Aug 11: The Karnali Highway, which was blocked by landslides, has been reopened. The road, which had been obstructed due to landslides in Pili, Kalyankhola, and Birtamod in Kalikot along the Surkhet-Jumla route, was cleared and became operational this morning.

Bir Bahadur GT, information officer at the road division office in Jumla, confirmed that the highway is now fully operational after the removal of the landslides. The road had been temporarily closed due to minor landslides in the affected areas.
He noted that upgrading the highway is challenging due to budget constraints. Maintenance work is being carried out using the available resources to the fullest extent. Local residents have called for immediate upgrades to the road to prevent future disruptions.
