Karnali CM set to visit fire-ravaged area in Mugu with relief materials

SURKHET, Nov 16: Chief Minister of Karnali Province Jeevan Bahadur Shahi is set to visit Mugu district to inspect the losses caused by a massive fire in Gamgadhi region on Monday night. 


Chief Minister Shahi will be handing over relief materials and other supplies to the victims of the incident after inspecting the losses caused by the fire.

A meeting of the Karnali Province Crisis Management Center (PCMC) has decided to inspect the incident site and provide necessary assistance including food and tents to the victims. Additional relief materials will be provided to the victims after the local administration assesses the damages caused by the fire. 


The fire that broke out from a house of a local in Gamgadhi on Monday night ravaged through the dense settlement. As many as 21 houses were destroyed by the fire that could not be controlled for four hours. Although the fire caused loss worth millions of rupees, no human casualties have been reported in the incident.
