Karbonn Mobiles come to Nepal

KATHMANDU, July 13: Karbonn Mobiles of India Tuesday launched three new handsets - K1212, K30 and KC450 - in the market. The company also announced the appointment of Allied Trade Link International as its authorized distributors in Nepal.



The handsets made in India are available in the range of Rs 2,999 to Rs 8,999. All the sets come with one year warranty and the company is providing 2GB memory card free with selected models. [break]



Karbonn K1212, which is a touchscreen phone, is priced Rs 8,945, while K30 and KC450 are priced Rs 7,175 and Rs 4,245 respectively.



Addressing the launching ceremony, Sashin Devsare, executive director of Karbonn Mobiles, said the new sets have been introduced in the Nepali market to meet the demand of lower and middle class people. “Our aim is to become the preferred choice of mobile phone users in Nepal,” Devsare added.



He said the company, which was established only a year ago, already commands 6 percent share in the mobile market in India. Devsare also hoped that Nepal would be the strong partner for the company in the days to come. He also assured that the company would introduce more exciting handsets for the Nepali market in the days to come.



Karbonn Mobiles is a joint venture between Delhi based Jaina Group and Bangalore based UTL Group. Apart from India and Nepal, the company has operations in areas like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Middle East and Africa. Karbonn Mobiles has 500 service centers, including 11 exclusive service centers, in India.



Mahesh Rajbhandari, managing director of Allied Trade Link, said they were extremely delighted to partner with Karbonn Mobiles.



Karbonn Mobiles has established an exclusive service center at Pako, New Road to address the requirement of Karbonn mobile users. The company targets monthly sales of more than 1,000 handsets in Nepal.
