KATHMANDU, Jan 1: Former Chairperson of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Kamal Thapa has decided to launch a 'new campaign' in the favor of Hindu nation from January 11.

Thapa, who was defeated as the party chairperson, is preparing to form a new party before the general election by launching a new campaign on January 7. He also has been accusing former King Gyanendra Shah for his defeat in the elections held for the party’s chairperson. Dissatisfied with the former king, Thapa has now abandoned the agenda of monarchy and is preparing to launch a nationwide campaign in favor of the Hindu nation from January 11.

Kamal Thapa had also written a letter to newly-elected Chairman Rajendra Lingden expressing strong indignation toward former King Gyanendra Shah. Lingden has not responded to the letter that he received on December 13, 2021.

However, some leaders of the party have been active to stop Thapa from launching the new campaign. Thapa, who is currently in Pokhara, is preparing to shed some light on the campaign after returning to Kathmandu. "Even though he is preparing for the campaign now, he seems to be moving ahead by registering a new party in the future (before the general election)," said an RPP leader. “We will try our best not to let the party be divided again.”
