KATHMANDU, Feb 8: Outgoing Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Kamal Thapa is preparing to announce a new party, said a leader close to Thapa.
Thapa convened a meeting of central members close to him in Kathmandu on Monday and said that he could think of an alternative.

One of the leaders present at the discussion said, "It seems that he is preparing to open a new party. However, he did not clearly mention anything about it. According to one of the leaders present at the meeting, Thapa said, "I have drawn the attention of the party chairman on theoretical, organizational and practical issues. If my concerns are not addressed, we can move on to new options. "
Earlier, Thapa had written two letters to party chairman Rajendra Lingden demanding formation of a committee to probe into the former king's interference in Rastriya Prajatantra party's general convention. He said that an accident could happen if an investigation committee is not formed.
Thapa and party president Lingden had a meeting last Saturday. According to RPP leaders, the meeting was not positive. According to leaders close to Lingden, Lingden is not ready to form a committee to investigate the former king's interference in the General Convention.
