KATHMANDU, Nov 30: Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) has finalized the name of weightlifter Kamal Bahadur Adhikari as the national flag bearer for the upcoming 13th South Asian Games to be held in Kathmandu.
Issuing a press statement on Saturday, the NOC informed that Adhikari was picked among the six Nepali players who were shortlisted.

Following the decision, Adhikari will carry the Nepali national flag during the inaugural ceremony of the 13th South Asian Games on Sunday afternoon.
According to NOC, Adhikari has been selected based on his exposure to international sports, international medals, and participation in the Olympics.
Adhikari had participated in the 9th, 10th and 11th editions of the SAG. He took a break in the 12th SAG and is now participating in this mega event for the fourth time. He had won a gold medal in the 10th SAG held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Earlier, the NOC had nominated Aayesha Shakya for oath-taking, Dipak Bista for lighting the Olympic Torch and Dipak Thapa from among the referees.
The formal opening ceremony of the 13th SAG will take place tomorrow at the Dasharath Stadium in the capital.
