KATHMANDU, Jan 2: Boxing players who won gold medals in the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) have been honored with cash prize today. The 13th SAG was held in Nepal from December 1 to 10, 2019. Nepal had won three gold medals in boxing under the SAG. The gold medalists in boxing are Bhpendra Thapa Magar, Sunil Shahi and Minu Gurung. Member-Secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC) Ramesh Silwal, president of Nepal Boxing Association Ram Awale among other sports officials felicitated them. Each player received Rs 25,000 with honour. The amount was sent by Nepal's former boxer Kush Basnet from Britain for honouring the 13th SAG gold medalists boxing players. Basnet who now lives in Britain had remitted the amount to Nepal Boxing Association. Boxing players winning silver and bronze in the 13th SAG were also honoured on the occasion.
