KMG Chairman Sirohiya presented before Dhanusha District Court

JANAKPUR, May 22: Kailash Sirohiya, the chairman of Kantipur Media Group (KMG), who is currently in police custody, has been presented before the District Court, Dhanusha.

Sirohiya was arrested from the Kantipur head office in Thapathali, Kathmandu, on Tuesday. He was brought to the District Police Office in Dhanusha at 6 AM today and was subsequently produced at the Dhanusha District Court. According to the police, all necessary documents were prepared and submitted to the court.

The court will now decide whether to extend Sirohia’s custody for further investigation or release him and set a date to proceed with the investigation.

The District Court in Dhanusha issued an arrest warrant against Sirohiya on Tuesday, leading to his arrest by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office at the request of Dhanusha Police.

The complaint against Sirohiya, filed with Dhanusha police on April 28, alleges that the citizenship number he obtained from the District Administration Office in Dhanusha matches that of another person.
