JANAKPUR, May 24: The District Court, Dhanusha has granted permission to the police to keep Kailash Sirohiya, the Chairman of Kantipur Media Group, for three more days in custody for investigation in a case related to citizenship.
A single bench of Judge Romakant Jha on Friday granted permission to this regard. Before this, advocates defended against the allegation labeled on media mogul Sirohiya in the hearing that took place under No 5 bench.
District Police Office, Dhanusha Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Ranjan Awale confirmed the court's decision.
Senior advocates Shambhu Thapa, Raman Shrestha, Sher Bahadur KC, Govinda Sharma Bandi and Tikaram Bhattarai and advocates Raman Kumar Karna, Kishore Paudel and Dipendra Jha argued in defense of Sirohiya.
Sirohiya was arrested by the police from Kantipur Media Headquarters, Kathmandu last Tuesday.
