According to family members, Joshi suffered stroke on his way home after spending two hours at office. Joshi had requested his driver to take him to Bir Hospital after having the stroke. Doctors declared him dead 10 minutes after he was taken to the hospital.
Joshi had been in legal field for the last 36 years.
His body was cremated at Pashupati on Tuesday. Justices of the Supreme Court, including Chief Justice Anup Raj Sharma, Appellate and District Court judges and other court officials had reached there to pay Joshi last tributes.
Joshi is survived by his wife and two sons.
