CIAA summons 86 persons for their alleged involvement in Lalita Niwas land grab

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has summoned 86 persons including families of those allegedly involved in transferring ownership of government land at Baluwatar to individuals. Bhatebhateni Super Market promoter Min Bahadur Gurung's family members are among those summoned by the anti-graft body for further investigation.

Finance Minister Khatiwada tables Appropriation Bill at National Assembly

Minister for Finance Yuba Raj Khatiwada presented the bill at the upper house of the Federal Parliament for discussion. The House of Representatives (HoR) had approved the Appropriation Bill 2075 (2019) on Tuesday, clearing the legal way for the government to make spending as proposed by Finance Minister Khatiwada for the Fiscal Year 2019/20.

PM employment program: trekking route construction at Shuklaphanta

Construction of trekking route has initiated at Batase Jharana – a tourist area based in Shuklaphanta municipality-8 under the Prime Minister Employment Programme. 24 job applicants got employment in the construction of the trekking route, which is considered one of the key tourism destinations for internal tourists.

APF Club defeated the host team, Sudur Paschim (Far-west) State team by six wickets in a match played here this morning to lift the title. APF club which won the toss and opted for fielding first limited the Sudur Paschim State team to 71 runs in 20 overs. APF was successful in hitting 74 runs, two runs more than the victory target, in 14 overs, losing four wickets.

Father-daughter border drowning highlights migrants’ perils

 The man and his 23-month-old daughter lay face down in shallow water along the bank of the Rio Grande, his black shirt hiked up to his chest with the girl tucked inside. Her arm was draped around his neck suggesting she clung to him in her final moments. He set her on the U.S. bank of the river and started back for his wife, Tania Vanessa Ávalos, but seeing him move away the girl threw herself into the waters.
