A Supreme Court source told myrepublica.com that Pant was transferred following a directive from Chief Justice Min Bahadur Rayamajhee, who though it better to send Pant to Kalikot where the work load is almost nil.
Rayamajhee took the decision a day after he assigned seniormost Justice Anup Ra j Sharma to study the judgment passed by Pant who released Gorkhali on a general date of three months.
Owner of The Royal Disco, Gorkhali faces the charge of murdering Rakesh Limbu, owner of Babylon Disco, six years ago. He was absconding ever since the murder in his disco in Kathmandu. He was in the most wanted list of police.
The fact of his controversial release on a general date by the court surfaced after the police arrested him last week in Kathmandu. The affidavits at the District Court show that he had produced fake documents before the court to influence the court decision in his favor. Prima facie facts showed that Judge Pant allegedly passed the release order without properly evaluating the genuineness of the affidavits furnished by Gorkhali, according to the source.
The court source further said that Justice Sharma is likely to recommend his study report on the Panta´s decision of releasing Gorkhali, in a day or two. If Justice Sharma finds the decision faulty, the chief justice will then forward the report to the Judicial Council, the body responsible for taking action against judges.
