Dr Bagchand recommended as Chief Judge of Pokhara High Court

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: The Judicial Council has decided to recommend Dr Ratna Bahadur Bagchand, Chief Judge of High Court Janakpur, Temporary Bench Birgunj, for the position of Chief Judge of Pokhara High Court.

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: The Judicial Council has decided to recommend Dr Ratna Bahadur Bagchand, Chief Judge of High Court Janakpur, Temporary Bench Birgunj, for the position of Chief Judge of Pokhara High Court.


Justice Council Spokesperson Ashok Kumar Chhetri said the JC meeting held on Friday under the chair of Chief Justice Bishwombhar Prasad Shrestha  on Friday recommended Dr Bagchand as Chief Judge of Pokhara High Court.

JC meeting recommends appointment of 35 District Judges


The JC has also recommended the appointment of 35 district judges. This includes 25 from the judicial service, 6 from the public prosecutor's office, and 4 from the legal service.


According to constitutional provisions, the Chief Justice is responsible for appointing district judges based on the JC's recommendations. Currently, there are vacancies for four judges in the Supreme Court and ten in the High Court.
