Journalists form society for rights

JANAKPURDHAM, Aug 25: A gathering of senior journalists of Janakpur district has set up a new organization with the objective of crusading for the rights and welfare of media persons serving more than 25 years in journalism.



The organization namely Senior Journalists’ Society Nepal has been established to draw the government’s attention towards guaranteeing dignified life and livelihood of long-serving journalists and raising string voice for their rights and security. [break]



An ad hoc committee with Ashok Rauniyar coordinator and Bishnumani Khanal member secretary has been formed to expedite ahead its functions.



Among the members of the organization are Madhav Bahadur Thapa, Shankar Lal Shrestha, Madan Lal Shrestha, Raj Kumar Gupta and Madhav Acharya while press freedom fighter Rajeswor Nepali has been nominated as advisor to the organization.
