Journalist Balaram Khadka of Tulasipur Municipality-2 was beaten by youth from Ranagaon, Tulasipur-1 who had come to perform the deusibhailo cultural programme on the occasion of Tihar festival, according to police.[break]
Journalist Khadka has received serious injuries to his head due to the beating and he is undergoing treatment at the Rapti Zonal Hospital, Tulasipur.
Police have detained nine youth from Ranagaon, Tulasipur-1 on the charge of beating the journalist.
Khadka works for the Gorakshya national daily published from Dang and Radio Indreni.
Meanwhile, different media organizations in the district have condemned the attack on journalist Khadka and called for taking stern action against the culprits. RSS
