DANG, June 14: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has reached Dang today to take part in the Nepal Sanskrit University’s fifth convocation ceremony at Beljhundi. The PM reached Dang this morning on a helicopter of the Nepali Army.
Prof Hareram Tripathi, chancellor of the Sampurnananda Sanskrit University, Varanasi, is a guest speaker for the ceremony. The convocation is being held after 12 years. It was halted due to various reasons, it has been said.
‘Sanskrit dying in its own land’
Others present on the occasion were the university’s pro-chancellor and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Ashok Kumar Rai, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, Chief of Lumbini Province Amik Sherchan, Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary, former chief ministers, ministers of the provincial government, members of the federal parliament and the province assembly and members of the university.
According to the university’s Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Yadav Prakash Lamichhane, 575 students will be graduated on the occasion.
