KATHMANDU, Dec 7: The 48th Convocation Ceremony of Tribhuvan University (TU) is going to be held on December 9, Friday. The convocation ceremony will be held at the playground of Pulchowk Campus in Lalitpur.
According to Sadhuram Aryal, member secretary of the Convocation Ceremony Main Organizing Committee, a total of 10,392 students are being initiated at the ceremony. Students who have taken transcripts from June 15, 2021 to June 15, 2022 will be allowed to participate in the convocation ceremony.
TU holds 44th convocation
Member Secretary Aryal said that 70,000 students took transcripts but only 10,392 applied for participation in the convocation ceremony. According to him, 6,691 people are being initiated toward graduation, 3,549 toward post-graduation, 55 toward MPhil and 97 towards PhD. One parent of the student will be allowed to participate in the ceremony.
Certain fees will be charged for the ceremony which include Rs 3,700 for graduation, Rs 4,200 for both postgraduate and MPhil and Rs 4,700 will be charged for PhD. The Chancellor of TU and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Vice-Chancellor of TU and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Devendra Paudel and others will participate in the ceremony.
Member Secretary Aryal said that Raghavendra P Tiwari, former vice chancellor of Center University of Punjab, India has been invited as the chief guest of the function. Medals will be distributed to MPhil, scholarly and top scorers. The university has distributed gowns/scarves to the students who will be initiated at the ceremony.
