The drama 'Jokhana' is being staged at Mandala Theatre, Anamnagar from March 22. The drama is an adaptation of a story by Biyash Rai. It is from his story collection 'Hiumajhi’, and is directed by Kiran Chamling Rai. Rajan Mukarung has transformed the story to drama.
The drama showcases the plight of a woman who suffers after the disappearance of her husband during the 10 years long civil war. The drama shows how a woman bears hardships because of unstable cultural and political scenarios.
A total of 11 artists have participated in the play. They are Sangita Thapa, Rupesh Lama, Sanjib Rai, Manahang Lawati, Anil Subba, Pabitra Rai, Nisha Pakhrin, Kabi Rai, Sudarshan Chhetri, Diwan Rasaili and Mani K Rai. The play is staged at Mandala Theatre, Anamnagar everyday at 5:15 pm (except Mondays) and will continue till April 21. There will also be a show on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
