JC recommends 15 for high court judges

KATHMANDU, Nov 21: A meeting of the Judicial Council (JC) on Wednesday recommended 15 persons for appointment as judges at various high courts.

KATHMANDU, Nov 21: A meeting of the Judicial Council (JC) on Wednesday recommended 15 persons for appointment as judges at various high courts.


The meeting decided to recommend to the chief justice to appoint the 15 individuals -- six district judges, one government attorney and eight law practitioners -- as high court judges.

The district court judges recommended for high court appointments are Kiran Kumar Pokhrel, Murari Babu Shrestha, Sudarshan Raj Pandey, Dipendra Adhikari, Ramesh Raj Pokhrel and Narishwar Bhandari. Likewise, government joint attorney Geeta Prasad Timsina has also been recommended for appointment as high court judge.


Similarly, the lawyers recommended are Milan Kumar Rai, Rajuram Silwal, Merina Shrestha, Meena Gautam Sedhain, Somkanta Mainali, Desh Bahadur Sarki, Rekha Thapa Pandey and Kiran Kumari Gupta.
