Japan envoy pledges additional aid

KATHMANDU, July 31: Newly-appointed Japanese ambassador to Nepal Masamichi Saigo said Japan will provide additional support to Nepal for post-earthquake reconstruction and infrastructural development.

KATHMANDU, July 31: Newly-appointed Japanese ambassador to Nepal Masamichi Saigo said Japan will provide additional support to Nepal for post-earthquake reconstruction and infrastructural development.

Japanese envoy Saigo paid a courtesy call on Urban Development Minister Mohammad Istiyak Rai at the ministry on Monday. During the meeting, Ambassador Saigo said Japan has consistently provided support to Nepal for infrastructural development and post-earthquake reconstruction and it will continue to do so in coordination with the ministry of urban development. Minister Rai congratulated Saigo for his posting in Nepal. He also said that the government highly appreciates the Japanese government's contribution in Nepal's economic, social and human development.
