It's now Koirala's turn to visit India

KATHMANDU, July 26: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala is visiting India during the first week of August. This would be Koirala’s first formal trip to India after assuming party presidency some three years ago. [break]



Koirala will leave for India on August 4 at the invitation of Indian government. During his visit, Koirala will meet with India’s President Pranav Mukharjee, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the Ruling Congress’s chief Sonia Gandhi, among other top Indian leaders, said Koirala’s personal aide Laxman Dhakal. Senior CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal is currently on a formal visit to India. Earlier, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and senior NC leader Sher Bahadur Deuba had visited India. Top leaders of the major political parties have recently been visiting India one after another when the country is already struggling to create a conducive environment for Constituent Assembly elections scheduled for November 19 later this year.
