ITF Nepal felicitates medalists

KATHMANDU: Nepal ITF Taekwondo Association felicitated medalists of the Second ITF Asian Taekwondo Championship in Kathmandu on Sunday.



Nepali player Sima KC had claimed silver medal in women´s middleweight sparring in the championship held in Malaysia from July 5 to 7.



Likewise, BS Balami had claimed bronze medal in veterans´ open weight sparring. National Sports Council Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama handed over letters of appreciation to the medalists amidst a function on Sunday.



Saipal, Lumbini win titles



KATHMANDU: Saipal Academy clinched the girls´ title in the Inter-college A-Level Basketball Tournament while Lumbini International College lifted the title in the boys´ section on Sunday.



Saipal defeated the host St Xavier´s College 27-12 in the girls´ final. Sabina Magar scored eight points for Saipal. Winner Saipal received Rs 10,000 while Arju Rawal of the winning team was adjudged the most valuable player.



Similarly, Lumbini edged past Ace Institute of Management 38-20 in the boys´ final. Tenjing Chhogyal Lama scored 17 points for Lumbini. Lama won the most valuable player award. Winner Lumbini received Rs 15,000.
