Itahari mayor issues apology for misbehaving with journalists

ITAHARI, May 27: The mayor of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan city, Dwarikalal Chaudhary, has apologized for misbehaving with reporters in an incident that occurred four days ago.

ITAHARI, May 27: The mayor of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan city, Dwarikalal Chaudhary, has apologized for misbehaving with reporters in an incident that occurred four days ago. 


Mayor Chaudhary issued a press statement on Sunday expressing regret over the incident and apologizing for hurting the sentiments of the reporters.

Chaudhary was caught on camera while misbehaving with a reporter. 


The Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Sunsari had issued a 48-hour ultimatum on Saturday for Mayor Chaudhary to apologize for his misconduct. The FNJ chapter had demanded a public apology and clarification on its opinions regarding journalists.


 “I did not intend to hurt the sentiments of any journalist, and I will have no such intentions in the future,” said the mayor.
