People misbehaving with journalists beg apology

CHITWAN, June 19: A group, which misbehaved with and thrashed 14 journalists in Aanptari of Chitwan on Saturday night, beg apology admitting their mistakes.



Employees working in Aanptari Barricade beg apology in a meeting held in Ward Police Office, Narayangarh last night, pledging not to do such activities in the days to come.[break]



Workers at Aanptari Barricade of Chitwan misbehaved with a group of journalists on the way back to Kathmandu from their visit to wetland area of Mahendranagar.



Journalists were ill-treated when they enquired about additional amount the barricade employee charged as highway tax by mobilizing local youths, said victim journalists.



Kantipur Daily reporter Abdulla Miya and Dinesh Shrestha of News 24 TV Channel were issued threat to physical assault.



Journalists were manhandled in the premises of Ward Police Office. Both the side reached to a consensus on the initiative of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Chitwan chapter.
